Portland Snow Forecast
Check the 7-day snow and freeze outlook for Portland and the Willamette Valley. We use the same forecast to stage First Responder Units and apply Easy Ice Melt before ice storms and snow arrive.
Forecast data from Open-Meteo, updated on page load. Invictus Snowfighters monitors conditions across the region and dispatches crews ahead of accumulating snow and ice.
How We Respond to the Forecast
Every contract has dedicated equipment and crew capacity. The forecast tells us when to put it to work.
No snow or freeze risk expected. Units stay staged and monitoring continues around the clock.
Trace snow or freezing temperatures with moisture. We apply
Easy Ice Melt so ice can't bond to walkways and lots.
Accumulating snow is in the forecast. Crews roll out before it falls, and every visit gets geo-fenced, timestamped proof of service.
Why Portland Winter Weather Is Hard to Predict
Portland's worst winter days are often ice, not snow. Three patterns drive most of it.
Cold east winds funnel through the Columbia River Gorge while warmer air rides over the top.
Gresham, Troutdale and east Portland feel it first.
Freezing rain coats trees, power lines and pavement in a glaze of ice. The January 2024 ice storm closed roads across the metro for days.
